How to Blend On Procreate

When looking at how to blend on Procreate, you need to know what kind of graphics and pictures to use to get the most impact. One of the very first things you should do is create some clip art images of your own head and upper torso and insert this into the main program window of Photoshop. By using the Clipping Mask tool, you can create the appearance of hair above your eyes. To change the actual clip art, right click on the picture, open the properties, and in the graphic tab, click on the blending tab. You can change the values in the Blending section to alter the way the picture is blended with your current image.

By selecting this option, you will see a pop up window with some basic options. The blend tab displays a little selection wheel, click and drag the wheel to the one you prefer the most. In fact, many people prefer to make their portraits simply black and white, which is easy on the eye when the image is so small.

After selecting your preferred blend type, you will want to make sure you have the appropriate tools installed on your computer for the job. Open the Photoshop file that has your original images, in case you want to restore them. Using the standard drawing tools, place your mouse cursor over the image, then use the drawing tools to click and set your clipping path. A soft brush tool will appear, and you will find that this is similar to the soft brush you used to create the background in the last tutorial. Using the soft brush tool, start brushing your image to create some of the light and dark areas in your portrait.

The last item on the blend mode palette you will need to check is the circle tool. When you find this tool, select it, then double click to set it up. You can use the circular motion brush to create smooth curves or even square and rectangular bar lines. You will find that the circle tool can be useful for creating straight and wavy lines for your portrait.
