How to Blend on Procreate

Some of the steps involved with learning how to blend on Procreate might be a little complicated. If you’re looking to learn how to accomplish the blending with various blend modes (i.e. how to switch between individual colour blend modes to achieve various effects), it can quickly get very confusing. Fortunately, once you’ve mastered the basics, there’s really only a few simple steps that you need to master to get the ball rolling.

The first thing that you need to understand about mixing on Procreate is that you do not have to start by blending with just one colour. You can actually mix up four colours, although it might look strange when you try. In fact, your blending brush will probably do even more blending in a variety of modes than you were able to make use of before. This means that it’s best if you’ve got a full palette of paint and you want to be able to produce all sorts of effects.

The second step in how to blend on Procreate is setting up your ‘stage’, which is simply a selection square. To do this, you click anywhere inside your grid and then drag your mouse over the selection square, so that it fills up the whole picture. When it’s filled, you want to drag your mouse towards the upper right-hand corner. Drag your mouse down to the very bottom to lock in the middle.

The next step is simply to select your blend mode, which is currently either ‘Blend’ or ‘Clone’. If you want to learn how to blend on Procreate with only one blend mode, the best option is to select ‘Blend’. This will give you the easiest to use interface as well as providing you with a range of options that are especially useful when you’re starting out. If, however, you want to learn how to blend on Procreate using as many blend options as possible, then it’s probably best to select the default mode. This allows you to see how the tool works and what the options are for each mode. This means that you can experiment more freely while still being confident that the program will work properly when you need it to.

When you have your selections all selected and you want to know how to blend on Procreate, then you can start applying the colors. If you want to use only one color for the duration of your artwork, then simply use the hue blend mode, where you simply choose the hue you want to use for the duration. It’s also possible to use fill mode instead of hue blend; this is used for creating outlines or adding texture. Using either mode will automatically give you the color you need for the duration.

If you’re looking for a way how to blend on Procreate then you can also experiment with the color mode to find out which one works best for you. If you need to create some color variations, then you should take the hue wheel option. The blend options in this mode are very useful, allowing you to experiment with various combinations of red, orange and yellow. These are the closest color match you’ll ever get, so the results won’t be too random. In order to make the most of your color combination, experiment until you get the best effect that you’re happy with.
