The easiest way to create your unique blend is to use the built-in smudging tool, which does all of the hard work for you. For now, lets discuss simple blending basics to aid make blending much easier. To blend the digital art, first select the blue channel on the left-hand side panel. Click on this little button to open up a new page in the mixer, and then select blend mode. Set the blending mode to anywhere between subtle to dramatic, depending on how you would like to achieve your final design.

Next, click on the little black arrow on the right-hand side of the mixer, which points to the blending brush. Select the big black brush on the left-hand side of the mixer, to access the blending brushes. Experiment with different size brushes to create different thicknesses of lines.

Now we are going to use our blend analogous colors tool to edit the digital art. To do this, click anywhere inside the clip mask image, then double-click the color you want to add. A pop-up window will appear with three selections – light gray, medium gray, and dark gray. Use the color picker to choose a color. Once you have done so, a clipping mask will appear where you can begin to edit your image.

To edit your image further, click inside the clipping mask to reveal the alpha mask. Again, double-click the color you are using, and select the alpha option from the clipping mask options. You will see that the color you had applied has now been replaced by your blended color. Notice how easily you can modify your image with the alpha mask tool.
