How to Blend on Procreate

How to blend on Procreate is a question many new fathers ask. Mixing up your pictures straight with the help of a Smudge tool can be an awesome time saver. However, the biggest problem with blending in Photoshop is knowing how to blend. There are several tricks that can help get you started quickly on how to blend on Procreate.

If you would like to start quickly on how to blend on Procreate, it is best to use a single Color Brush. The single color brush is perfect for blending in your work because it is easier to control where your brush goes. If you are unsure of how to blend on Procreate, try using a single brush and experiment.

The most important part of how to blend on Procreate is selecting a good blending method. A few of the most popular methods include the standard blending technique, the magic amount technique, and the grid blend technique. You may find it helpful to use one or two of these techniques depending on your needs. In order to get started with how to blend on Procreate, select any one of the blenders on the software that resemble the standard brush. When you have your chosen blend selected, click the Blending Tool icon and move your mouse cursor over the area of your image that you wish to place your artwork in.

Your chosen blend tool should now appear at the top portion of the screen. Click on the + sign next to the word “Blend.” The display will tell you the number of individual kneads in the chosen blend. To add more or less strokes to your blend, simply left-click your pen. If you would like to add more than one smudge tool, you may drag multiple smudge tools towards the center of the canvas.

Now that you have your blend selected and the tools are ready, you will begin the most important step of learning how to blend on Procreate. Select the eraser tool in the palette and begin drawing along your drawing space, starting with the uppermost point on your canvas. As you draw new points, a clipping mask will be created in your layers palette. Once you are happy with the clipping, select the eraser tool and deselect all of the remaining areas on your canvas where you would like to create a divide. Click on the “Clipping Mask” icon to create a new Clipping Mask.

Select the standard alpha lock feature located in the lower right-hand corner of your layout. This will ensure that you are holding down the alpha lock button without accidentally activating it. After clicking the alpha lock button, your blend will be locked in place and you can see your image exactly as it appears in Photoshop. The blending process was completed! Happy drawing!
