How to Blend on Photoshop – Fast and Easy Tips to Get You Started

To utilize this mode, select any object with either color or black and white in it, then simply move the cursor to the appropriate corner. You will see a circle appears around your selected object. Now change to the clipping mask tab and choose the “translucent” option. This mode allows you to see the area behind your selected object while performing an adjustment to its background.

The next step in learning how to blend on Procreate is using the alpha lock function. Alpha lock simply means that you are locking in the colors, pastes and other attributes at the current position. To do this, simply hold it while selecting any item and click the alpha lock icon. alpha lock can also be useful when creating borders, because it can help you create a smooth border of varying thickness without making the image look overly blended.

The last item you’ll need to master how to blend on Procreate is the blending tools. There are two different drawing programs that come standard with Photoshop, namely the pen and smudge tools. Although these tools may seem unnecessary, they will greatly improve the quality of your images when used correctly. Select all of the clipping masks and the normal channels and start blending from the inside out, applying the effect in the area outside of the stroke.

It’s important that you start your blending sessions at 100%, because using the default settings (off) can cause a lot of blurring. Start by opening a new document and select “vt” as the format. Now select the default channel as your “start color”. Blend until your desired result. You should learn how to blend on Procreate by applying the same process to the “grayscale” channel as well.
