How to animate on Procreate is a fun activity that both mom and dad will enjoy. Open the GIF file from your Procreate images program. A window will pop-up allowing you to name your private layer. You can also preview the private layer in this window, and if you would like to switch it to public or save it for later you can do so by selecting the red “Save as” arrow on the toolbar.

To start the animation, click anywhere on your GIF file except where you would like the image to be shown. If you are using multiple images, each placed in a separate layer, then choose the individual images you would like to use. Now click on one of your selected images. A frame option will appear. Choose the Create frame option so that the image you are drawing will be shown as a frame for the animation.

If you are using the animated images approach, then you may be interested in learning how to create onion skin frames. In order to create frames, a frame overlay image should be made over your existing picture. This frame overlay will give you the ability to see a copy of your original image over the frame and you will be able to see the difference between your original image and the frame overlay. By clicking on Overlay, a drop-down menu will appear allowing you to select the type of overlay you wish to use.

The easiest way for someone who is not very experienced in working with the computer and animation is to have the keyboard open and perform your commands by clicking the appropriate keys on the key board.
