How to Animated GIFs on Procreate

Learning how to animate on Procreate is very easy and fun! Open the GIF file from your Procreate photo editing program. With the arrow keys pressed to drag the newly animated graphic over the screen to the desired location. If you would like to have several frames per photo, you may simply make an additional add on palette by clicking on the + sign next to the background canvas in the upper right of the screen. Once you are happy with your composition, simply press the play button to begin playing.

The next time you open a photo in your procreate animation program, you will see a blank white frame with the name of your image underneath it. To change this, simply double click on this empty frame and change its name to whatever you would like. You can also choose to create a fade-in or fade-out effect when you are creating your own animations, simply select the fade-in option from your graphics palette.

To finish your animation, simply save it as a GIF file using the File menu. If your file is longer than fifteen seconds, use the Quicktime file option on your Procreate software menu. Your animation should start at the point where you initially inserted the frames. To have a smoother start to your animation, simply repeat the process across all your images until you are satisfied with your animation. To stop your animation at any time, simply close your animation window.
