How to animate on Procreate

Are you wondering how to animate on Procreate and create some really cute and fun animations? This tutorial will show you how to do it in no time at all! Continue reading to learn how to animate on Procreate and what tools you will need. First, open up your Procreate 5 images editing program.

Open up the GIF file on your Procreate 5 image editing program. Using the arrow keys on your keyboard to drag your newly animated image from the desktop to the pre-built canvas. If you want to have multiple frames per image, you can simply create an add on palette for that by clicking on the + button next to the canvas on the top right of the screen. You can change the color and transparency of the frame with the hue, value and saturation tools. In order to complete your animation, hit the play button and watch your cute animation play! To add more frames to your animation, just click on the add frame button again.

One of the neat features that Procreate offers is the undo function. If you need to make some changes to an animation and are unable to make the required changes to the timeline due to some technical issues, it is easy to go in and manually fix any broken lines or fixations in the current frame. How to animate on Procreate and use the Timeline feature is really very simple.

The first step is to choose an image from your computer’s hard drive. Open the Image menu and choose the draw image option. Choose the draw option so that the image you are drawing is drawn as an image. After selecting an image you want to use as your frame in your animation, go to the draw over bar and click on the create frame option so that your image is drawn as a frame in the animation.

After you have finished drawing your frame in, go to the layers palette and click on the create sub-palette option. This will bring up a new sub palette for your animation. From here you can select which images you want to animate. If you want to animate only one or two frames in your animation, you should choose a frame that has the minimum number of frames (the first two to be exact) in the layers palette. You can also select a frame in your layers palette that you want to use as the private layer so that you can do the private editing of your animation and not have the layers palette visible in your animation.

To animate on Procreate, select the draw animation option so that your drawing window is displayed as an animated one. To do this, go to the draw option in the main menu and click on create new action. A pop up will appear and give you options to choose the duration and delay for your action. After you have done that, you are now ready to animate on Procreate!
