You will need an Adobe Photoshop CC license to be able to know how to animate on Procreate. Open the GIF file in the Procreate graphics program. Using the trackball located on your mouse to drag over the image on the virtual canvas to create a frame. You can drag as many images as you wish onto your timeline, each image will have a corresponding duration on its x and y coordinate.

To know how to animate on Procreate, you will need to find your layout in the main palette. Click on your frame layer in the layer palette. A rectangular selection tool will appear. You will use this to position your selected image in your layout.

Open your document in the default program and select the draw button. The default draw feature is perfect for animating text. Once you have chosen an appropriate style, click on the arrow at the bottom of the frame layer to open it in the editing area of your chosen format. This allows you to select your frame in the layers palette. Each frame will have its own layer called a frame layer. You will notice a red line that demarcates the start of the new frame layer.

Use the flipclick function by pressing the TAB key when you are in the drawing view of the document in order to open up the flipclip function. The flipclip feature allows you to create an animated sequence or loop. Each frame in the animation has a different name. Use the name of the document you are currently working on to find it in the document menu. Using the arrow keys and the space bar, you will create a new animation frame.

If you need to add some extra effects to the animation, you can use the flipClip(alt) and flipClip(down) keys. For example, to add a tail, press both keys simultaneously. You should use the down key only while recording the video. If you want to slow down or speed up the video, use the space bar and then the TAB.

If you want to learn how to animate on Procreate, one of the simplest methods involves using the FlipClip object. The FlipClip object is a bit smaller version of the iPad’s dock connector. You will need a Mac computer with a USB port in order to attach your FlipClip to your computer. To start recording the video, click the red record button. If you would like to pause during the recording, you will simply press the red pause button. It is possible to add text to each frame in your animation, as well.
